Father's Day. The day in which my mother likes to remind me how she raised me all on her own without a man in her life. Sometimes I can't help but think that maybe the mysterious sperm donor who helped my mother the martyr create me had it right. He ran. As fast as he could. Didn't let a damn thing hold him back. If only we could all be that lucky.
To do what we want and not let anyone stand in our way or tell us otherwise.
And now this is totally me going off on a point that has nothing to do about fathers or my lack of one, but rather an important decision I have to make. And I hate making these big decisions. So, if anyone can make this grown up thing stop, let me know.

You know, I'm getting really sick of seeing all this promo materials for drink discounts at Temptation. Just in case anyone really wanted to know my opinion, it's that. Quite exactly.
I also totally need to get out of this flat for a spell, go do something that isn't me contemplating if I should repaint that wall a different color again. Which I think I might do, I am so over wildflower honey.

Dear Gravity, I win again.
Once many moons ago I was an excellent hand stander, but had since lost that very specific skill set. However, I am proud to say that I can once more do a free standing hand stand. Although my hair must be properly secured or it's just a disaster.
And today is a very good day. Cho Chang Davies you owe me dinner sometime this week. Or maybe I technically owe you, but those are just details and the first way sounds better.
There will totally be cake for breakfast tomorrow. I'll just need to get the cake.

So, I think it might be time that I tried for one of those job things again. In that after the next rent check, I'm going to be cutting it a bit close on the personal funds.
Which is a thrilling pitch I know, but anyone hiring? If only I was a gay man because then I would be a total shoe in.
And yes, how the mighty have fallen. To go from once having plenty of money and a platinum record to be bouncing around from one low paying job to the next. But on the plus side, I do have a whole range of skills now.

Of all the things I had on my mind today, having to sit in the waiting room at St. Mungo's was certainly not one of them. And yet here I am still waiting for those charming healers and mediwizards to find the time to see me. Which I get obviously, it can't be that bad if I can sit here and write about it, but currently not the point.
Besides, most my annoyance is currently directly toward the peircing girl at Ink You. As someone who is no stranger to body modifications having eight tattoos and a number of pericings, I have never had a bad experience with them until now. I also have been going to two guys religiously for all of them, but I figured hey, people speak well of this Ink You place - the woman seemed competent why not give it a chance?
Three days later and boy am I regretting that choice. For all people say that muggles are lacking, they have a long history of getting the body modifications right.
At least I get to spend a thrilling St. Patrick's evening with the fine house staff at St. Mungo's.

Did you know that I had a mother? Because here I thought I sprung out of the ground full grown like some ancient god. But apparently, I was wrong because I do have a mother who has so humbly requested my presence for lunch on Tuesday. I don't think I have spent more than ten minutes with the woman in at least a year. (NOTE: I am by no means over-exaggerating on this estimate, if only because I think the world might end if we spend any serious amount of time together. So, if the world does end on Tuesday you have been forewarned.)
Although it does make me wonder where are the Witches and Wizards for Family Fun advocating for my family fun on this one? I mean they were quite vocal a few years back about The Banshees last album.
My own mother aside, I do suppose there are a good number of decent ones out there that deserve some respect. Although not all of them are so elegant.
